Seen Here First for developers: API and MCP notes
Work with Seen Here First in code or through an AI assistant: search all launches, read leaderboards and founder stories, submit a product by its website address, edit your listing, and get the checkout link for a paid launch. The REST API and the MCP server are equal, and the rules are the same for both.
- MCP server
https://seenherefirst.com/mcp(Streamable HTTP)- REST API
https://seenherefirst.com/api/v1- OpenAPI 3.1
- https://seenherefirst.com/api/v1/openapi.json
- Sign-in
- OAuth 2.1 for apps, or a personal key from API keys
- Version
- 1.0.0 (changelog)
With an AI assistant
Use https://seenherefirst.com/mcp as the address of a custom connector or MCP server in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code or any MCP client. You might ask “What launched this week in my category?”, “Find alternatives to my competitor” or “Launch my product https://example.com”. Reads work straight away. Your first change opens a browser in the app so you can connect your account. Step-by-step for each app.

Ground rules
- We label the billboard and every sponsorship as a paid placement. Votes alone set the community rankings.
- A purchase is finished on a checkout page that the person opens and pays on. The API only gives out the link and never sees a card.
- No endpoint and no MCP tool casts votes. Every vote on Seen Here First is cast by a person on the site, and by nobody else.
- Prices come from Seen Here First's pricing (list_products), in US dollar cents, excluding VAT.
- AI drafts quote evidence from the product's own website. Facts it cannot find are left blank and marked, never made up.
Questions
- Could an AI assistant vote or pay in my place?
- No. Votes come only from people on the site, and payments happen on a checkout page you open and pay yourself. The API returns the checkout link.
- Is there a developer API on Seen Here First?
- Yes. There is a free REST API at /api/v1, with an OpenAPI description, and a remote MCP server at /mcp. Public data is open to read without signing in. To submit or manage your own listings, you need your account, using OAuth or an API key.
- Is there a charge?
- Access is free within the published rate limits. When you buy a product, a paid launch for example, its price is on the pricing page.
- Does the AI guess at facts about my product?
- The AI draft is built to stay with what your own website says. Anything it cannot verify is left blank and marked, and before anything goes live you review every field and can change any of it.
- Can I reach Seen Here First from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or VS Code?
- Yes: add the MCP server URL to your app as a custom connector or MCP server. Reading needs nothing more; your first write opens a browser to connect your account.
