About Open Source
Open source is where a product shows its workings. Anyone can read the code, question it, fork it or fix it. That openness is why this page exists: new projects deserve a proper look while they are still unfamiliar. Each card introduces something recently released, with a plain description and a link to the thing itself.
Browse it the way you would walk a gallery. The page gathers everything across its four subcategories, with filters to narrow the view. Newest arrivals come first, and you can switch to community votes, which can never be bought. When you compare projects, check the licence, how recently the maintainers touched it, how clear the documentation is, and whether you could get it running without help from its authors.

Open Source: questions answered
- What kind of project fits in Open Source?
- Anything whose source code is publicly available for others to read and reuse: finished software, code you build with, tools you run yourself, and open models. Pick the subcategory closest to what the project does day to day, then submit it there.
- How do I choose between the four subcategories?
- Think about who uses it first. People who install it and get on with their day belong in apps. Developers who import it into their own code belong in libraries. Anything you run on your own server suits self-hosted. Models, weights and machine learning tooling go to open source AI.
- How do I get my project listed here?
- Go to /submit and paste the website address. The profile is drafted by AI from that site, then you review and edit every field yourself; nothing is published until you do. Paid launches cost $5, while free listings wait around 1-2 weeks in the queue.
- Can one project sit in several categories?
- Every project gets a single main category at no cost. If it genuinely straddles areas, the extra-categories upgrade, priced at $5, lets you place it in more categories. Choose the main one carefully, since that is where most visitors will meet it.
- How are projects ordered on this page?
- Newest first by default, so recent arrivals are never buried. Visitors can sort by community votes instead to see what others rate highly. Votes cannot be bought, so that ordering reflects genuine interest rather than spend. Filters help you narrow things further.
